How to Stop Child's Temper Tantrums in 4 Fastest Ways

How to Stop Child's Temper Tantrums
What measures should parents do to stop child’s temper tantrums? Why do little children do these annoying and embarrassing tantrums?  Why can’t they wait, stop or behave well?

This is always the scene: You’re in a hurry and just about to pay your grocery items, then your child starts to ask for a chocolate bar. With your firm ‘No’ answer he still insists many times until he loses his tantrum. He cries out loud and starts to stomp his feet publicly and you can't stop him.  Confronted with temper tantrums is one of the most irksome scenarios commonly experienced by parents.

Just like children, adults also have moments of emotional outbursts once in a while.  Remember the time you’re totally maddened because your printer was down and you had to complete badly your task? You have thrown papers, screamed and acted with anger beyond control. Basically, we call it the “adult tantrum.” The great temper of the child in the grocery store is much like similar with the strong emotions you experienced—frustrations! Children become angry also; they are just like us. And it’s truly difficult to stop child’s temper tantrums directly.
Temper tantrums basically are the children’s fastest ways of expressing any obstruction with the things happening around them. This is hard to accept, but kids still lack the self-discipline that breeds success.  They need self-control when dealing with different situations.  The best thing to understand as parents is to control and stop the child’s temper tantrums before they do this to us.

Key tips to help parents stop child’s temper tantrums

1.   Help the kid to have control over the situation. Parents sometimes can’t stop temper tantrum because the child simply wants a bit of “independence.”  Help them by offering some few choices in creating little decisions. Ask what they prefer to eat for breakfast: hotdog or fried egg, milk or chocolate.  Consider giving your kids at least 2 options in making his preference.

2.   Find immediate ways to divert their attention.  Common children have very limited attention spans. They swiftly change their concentration almost every minute. Take advantage of this opportunity to stop your child’s temper tantrums.  Show your kid his new toy or attractive book and gently talk to him. If you plan to go outdoors, bring pieces of stuff to distract his temper tantrums just in case he starts to scream.

3.   Make it very quick.  Children by nature easily get bored and tired so they resort to temper tantrums.  No level of distraction can fight off tantrums once they lost control.  Be conscious enough about the warning signs your child is displaying like complaining, little crying, and reasoning.  They are red flags showing that something not good is about to happen.  So get some alerts from these signs to stop the coming bad behavior.

4.   Lack of love and attention.  Finally, remember that children always seek for your attention.  So you can stop child’s temper tantrums simply by giving quality time and care. Children are very smart; they know that unhelpful attention (like being reprimanded) is much better than not getting attention at all. Be generous in giving appreciation and rewards to your children.  Always plan to do things together every day, even for a few minutes.  Complete a puzzle with him, narrate a short story, work together, play with him, and so on. The reward is amazing—you could stop the child’s temper tantrums and he begins to behave positively.  He would try his best to stop his outburst of emotions.

Temper tantrums always come and go to children’s lives as well as to ours. Your responsibility as parents is to let them realize that bad behaviors are not suitable—in public and in homes.  Loving parents can help stop their child’s temper tantrums by making rules, setting limitations, and modelling for good behavior.

We hope the above tips can help you resolve and stop some of the recurring issues between you and your child. Understand that to totally stop a child’s temper tantrums is not easy, but you can make a place where both of you can effectively handle it together—successfully!

Why iPad is One of Today's Best Toys

Posted in Labels: , , ,

In the market segment, large numbers of technical people and users of gadgets will affect iPad much like we imagine it will, because iPad is one of today's best toys.  Lots of people will use them and this will be the basis of arguments between skeptics and the users.

But the response among kids will be different.  We trust that in the market under 12 years old, iPad will dominate with no actual rivalry.  This will thoroughly modify children’s culture.  Here are 3 reasons why it’s likely to happen: ipads are perfect for parents, children’s culture industry and the children's toy for themselves.

Parents

Normally, parents are searching for electronic babysitters that's why iPad is now one of today's best toys. An ipad is used to calm down their young kids so that they can do something else like to driving a car, or eating a dinner.

An iPad is one of the ideal toys for pacifying kids. For beginners, selected apps of iPad are expected to be more helpful and educational than televisions.  To substitute or replace the in-car entertaining gadgets for children, iPads are better because kids can change the app.  Parents do not need to put everyone’s life at risk attempting to swap DVDs.

Parents who trust to use an iPad are preparing their kids for the present and future, better than viewing a television. The resolution needed by parents is to get an iPad for their kids.  Probably, lots of parents will and can do this.

Children’s culture industry

Looking at the children’s culture—DVDs, books, toys—there’s a huge level of crossover from a specific product category to the next.  Say for instance, Disney creates a Little Mermaid film, afterwards a doll, a series of story books, then a program series in television, and more.  Just approximately every main children’s franchise will go entirely multimedia.  An iPad is again another multimedia too soon.

Anyone can visualize interactive books in various ways.  Books can be puzzles, colouring book materials, introduction to social networks, movie scenes and a lot more.

From the perspective of business, an iPad displays more than just another form of today’s best toy and media which selling prevailing and upcoming characters and brands.  Broadcasters, publishers, entertainment and educational businesses will go nuts with apps of iPad as they highlight children’s education.

Children

If an iPhone comes so naturally with our children, an iPad becomes more realistically natural, basically because of better features and bigger size.

Most likely, an iPad will start a great revolution in the culture of children.  We are convinced that this year onwards, iPads will be the most requested birthday and holiday gift by everybody—children below 12 years old and 18 years old.

Many children will begin to learn to write, to read and put their trust on iPads.  Using iPads, children can watch cartoons and movies on iPads.  They can start social networking, play virtual games, and do art drawings and coloring.

Children will have been working on the multi-touch user interfaces by the time they get into middle school.  They’ll be using iPads almost daily for seven years and more.

Without a doubt, iPad in one of today's best toys. The flatform of iPad will demonstrate its appealing features to everybody—parents, employees and most importantly the children themselves.

5 Tips to Consider when Using iPad with Young Children

Posted in Labels: , , , ,

The passing away of Steve Jobs has left the world of technology a great legacy—using iPad with young children.  He had lots of gadgets, like the iPad, that have become useful tools for teaching kids. Unfortunately, professionals and parents alike don’t know how to maximize the benefits of technology.  They don’t focus on the techniques the way an iPad can be helpful in relating with young children.

Here are the 6 tips to get the most from iPad technological experience:

1.   What are your plans?  Understand why you’re using iPad with young children versus the use of traditional books, building with blocks, drawing or coloring on papers. Is your plan of using iPad to extend activities they already know, or is it for playing and entertainment?  Make sure you know why you plan to hand over an iPad to your young children.

2.   Who are the participants?  Who will use the iPad? Is it for one child or probably a group of young children at the same time?  Consider their age brackets.  What are their degree of development and attention span? Are there unsuitable apps that may affect their development level?  If there are, hide those apps and keep them inaccessible.

3.   What are the limitations?  How long should it take when using iPad with young children?  Is there a required number of hours? Are there settings?  Consider what is recommended to children when using of technology: No more than one to two hours daily.  Limitations also involve viewing of TV and DVD’s.

4.   How to position when using the iPad?  Will you be sitting next to your child, or behind him, or in front so you see each other face to face?  Is it proper to hold iPad up near children’s face or it's better to put it on their lap?  Do you want to take control of its use while young children are working on the iPad? Or would you let the children explore it by themselves?  Make a little study which iPad positioning gives the best outcome.

5.   What are the validity of proofs?  To date, there is no recent research-based proof on the real advantageous effects when using iPad with young children, regardless of their age.  It is still best to use iPad with caution and employ good judgment instead of presuming that this educational tool is beneficial.  On the contrary, there’s no doubt children are now using and benefiting from the many iPad apps.  The new technology will always be useful for young children.

In conclusion, it is generally significant for parents to take their “plan” considerably before entrusting and using iPad with young children.  They should know the iPad’s role in giving education and interactive opportunities for the family and children—far greater than just being entertained.

5 Tips to Effective Parenting Skills

Posted in Labels: , , ,

You need effective parenting skills to cope with the daily stress your children give you.  Parenting is at all times challenging and has a series of tests.  However, being a parent requires no classes, academic degrees, or licenses.  Children do not arrive with a set of instructions or a manual.  Often parents have to learn as they go, receiving on-the-job training.  It is a difficult job to learn right, effective skills.  There’s no thorough experience to prepare them for all the problems they may have.

To some, there is a natural instinct that seems to come to a new parent, but this is rare.  There are always skills to learn that can help parents when challenges arise.  To be more responsible fathers and mothers, we’re giving you tips to effective parenting skills to handle your children well.

Tip # 1
Seek Good Advice

Definitely, all parents need effective skills in bringing up their children.  This career is one of the most frustrating yet rewarding jobs any person can achieve.  Most parents go to professional specialists seeking for effective guidance and skills in parenting.  What these experienced people speak of is based on principles on managing families.  Ask for the experts’ perspective who have mastery on raising kids.  Seek for both sensible examples and great advice that can assist you in acquiring effective skills.

Tip # 2
Use Your Authority

Studies show that kids brought up by loving and yet authoritative parents stand out academically.  Children consider many good things about themselves, build up better social skills, and are happier over those children whose parents are either very lenient or harsh.  Those who support their children but keep firm limits are using effective parenting skills.  From childhood through their adolescent years, children will defy your right in exercising your authority and your skills of effective parenting.  When it comes to a question like ‘Who is the boss?’ children will, if the parents won’t run with the ball.

Tip # 3

Kids become better with understandable rules and consequences.  Using no structure, they become unhappy, selfish, self-absorbed—and they make everybody around them unhappy, too.  If you love your kids, you have to correct them effectively through your parenting skills.  If rules are broken, impose the consequences right away.  Note: if you are angry, wait until you have calmed down before you enforce the discipline.  Nevertheless, don’t delay it.  Avoid bargaining.

Tip # 4
Recognize Your Child’s Feelings

Children need and want the most important ones in their lives—their parents—to understand how they feel inside.  If parents consistently oppose their kids when expressing their emotions, they’re not practicing effective parenting skills.  Children become less expected to discuss matters with them.  They may even doubt their capabilities.  Normally, they will express their emotions and thoughts in intense way, defying your power.

Tip # 5
Educate by Examples

Actions teach and educate your skills for effective parenting.  Very often, words impart only information.  Mimicking their parents is one of the most influential ways children learn.  Try hard to be good models only, not expecting perfection.  Use your effective parenting skills in raising self-disciplined children.

Children learn best when they’re provided with consistent, firm, and clear rules.   Parenting becomes effective if we use unconditional love and acquired skills in disciplining children.  In fact, this approach produces well-adjusted parents and children.  Often, it generates a happy family living.

How to Save Your Marriage & Avoid Divorce for Your Children

Posted in Labels: , , , , ,

While there may be justified reasons for broken marriage and divorce, still the end result will be the damaged families, especially for children who are too young to experience the tragedy of separation.

What should you do as couples to avoid your divorce, save your marriage and still fulfill your obligations to children?  For the sake of your kids, don't allow minor disputes to ruin your entire marriage and family. Obviously, before you can become effective parents, first understand how to care of your husband and wife relationship. This good treatment can then be extended to your children.

In order to avoid divorce, each marriage should be planned to help husbands and wives be prepared. Obviously, the first couple of years are the most crucial stage in marriage. If problems are not solved, you may not avoid having divorce.  While you truly love each other, there are heavy suitcases both of you keep carrying.  The man could be very critical while the woman could be a nagger and yet sensitive.  Other struggles may involve loss of job, death of a child, or relationship involvement of a third party.  And if things get worse it is really hard to save your marriage and avoid divorce.

When all these things start to happen, you think getting married was a big mistake.  After the fights and tears, who would help to make things right? A pastor, family friend, a therapist, or any third party? How would both of you get through with the struggles of having a divorce?

Seek marriage help

Having no divorce problems in your marriage would not mean you don’t need any support.  Be pro-active in getting help to improve relationship. It’s just like an insurance.  So read, discuss, and get new information about successful marriage.  You may take courses for marriage training, attend seminars, listen to counselors—anything you can think about to build up stronger marriage and avoid divorce.

See yourself first

Take time to think about the role you should play as well as your responsibilities.  Understand where your spouse is coming from, then sympathize with his feelings.  To save your marriage avoid pointing your fingers at your partner.  Accepting the truth that you also have faults will help improve the relationship.  You would never realize how you could be loved.  Being conscious about your attitude and how it affects the other person, you then become more caring and less critical.
Build up your marriage partner
If your concern is to meet the needs of your marriage partner, chances are he will do the same to you.  Build up his confidence and he will do the same.  For the wives, what they need is for the husband to care for them, touch, love and cherish them.  Writing short love notes, whispering to their ears, being helpful and thoughtful—all are powerful ways to love wives.  Husbands, on the contrary, are in need of being respected and admired.  Paying attention when they speak, listening to their opinions, agreeing with their decisions—all will fulfill their needs.
Spend quality moments with each other

To avoid divorce and save your marriage, make your honeymoon a ritual habit of couples.  Doing this thing keeps your relationship intact and both of you will receive revenues in return.  Have a dinner together, stroll together, stay close, cuddle the wife, have a walk together—anything that can keep you marriage closer.   Spend time for your interests, and hang out with each other.  Talk with fun about yourselves and don’t attempt to be seriously discussing on something.  Be acquainted again, and be romantically and physically involved.

Choose your marriage struggles
Fights and disrespect are grounds for divorce that's why it's hard to save marriage.  But various problems are normal for married couples.  Hence, make sure you pick your warfare intelligently since there are lots of them.  The significant value is how can you control the challenges and not to end up having divorce.  You and your partner should have the disposition to compromise.  Certainly, there’s no need to fight over the varying opinions you have about marriage. Provide grace and understanding for each other and you'll avoid divorce.
Discuss with fellow successful couples
There are common things husbands and wives always fight about.  So it's empowering to draw strength from other couples also.  It's recommended to interact, get tips and advice on marriage break up and how to cope with it.  Having people to talk to—those in the same boat—will be helpful in getting right ways for your difficult problems.  It helps when you feel there are other couples who want to support your marriage.
Majority of new couples encounter extreme struggles in their marriage.  Everything happening is normal, and most husbands and wives are just going through same problems.  Marriage is not having a competition, who is right and who is wrong.  Marriage is not for divorce either; it's a lifetime commitment.  Accept at times that the decisions and opinions you make could be wrong.  Then be willing to think through your partner’s viewpoint!

What could be more wonderful in accepting responsibilities of parents than to keep their marriage stronger. Your main goal is to save your your children, your marriage and avoid divorce.  Separation is traumatic to you  and to your children.  As couples, you should exercise the right relationship that's free from the risk of divorce.  Only then can you raise happy and successful children in the family.

Education - Tips for Teaching Kids to Enjoy Reading

Posted in Labels: , , , ,

The best way to teaching kids to enjoy reading is to surround them with many interesting books. Words from books are the bases for fun reading.  Listen to words, speak them out, and watch them.  Most importantly teaching should be linked to their daily living and activities.  A small child can learn rich vocabulary simply by talking words.  Do it while in the supermarket, at home and school, while playing, taking a walk.  Anytime of the day with any activity can be an opportunity to teaching new words to children through reading.

Tips in Teaching a Child to Enjoy Reading

Have a fixed time of teaching and reading every day. You and your child should find a conducive place where reading is comfortable to do.  The book, though it may look thick, can be read from cover to cover if your place is calm and relaxing.  Sooner or later, the child will find it pleasurable  to read more because of undisturbed moments.

Anticipate some struggles while reading.  Occasionally, there are times that teaching and reading are not fun and enjoyable.  Don’t force the kid. Hold until the child begins to show interest.  However, always get prepared for unpredicted conditions like tantrums and stubbornness.   It’s good that you keep some interesting books in your bags, inside the car, everywhere at home, or even outdoors.  You can overcome boring moments if teaching kids to enjoy reading takes place.

Choose the books the child likes to read most.  Obviously you don't enjoy reading books which are not exciting.  So encourage a child what book he likes to read more often.  As adults, you know roughly what are educational, interesting and fun books to learn from. So if a child has a favorite book, let him do the reading again and again.  Don’t be a critic to his choices.  Instead praise the child for showing interests and willingness to read. These are great tips for teaching kids to enjoy reading.

Ask your child some questions.  While teaching, make the child an active participant in reading; don’t let him just do all the listening.  Give the child some opportunities to show his functioning mind.  Throw questions that may need more than just a “yes” or “no” answer.  “Who do you think will get the reward from the story?” “What will happen to the main character?” “What did you learn from the story?” These are teaching questions that deal with details and explanations, and children are able to do it--surprisingly!

Link the stories to life’s day-to-day activities.  If the topic you're teaching and reading is about cats, point out the cat animals you find everywhere. Relate those cats to the story you have read. Talk about their characteristics, friendly attitude, including the fur, color, size and a lot more. Ask, “Who do you think is their master?” Then create another interesting cat story.

Give some rewards when they always read.  Rewards are effective motivators to teaching kids to enjoy reading and accomplish something.  Occasionally, kids are encouraged through reasonable incentives. Later, the child will discover that reading itself is a big reward.  Together you may watch a movie, or buy him additional books, or treat him with his favorite food.  It feels so good when their efforts are appreciated by parents.

Let the kid enjoy reading.  With all probability, a kid is more likely to enjoy if reading has become his habit.  Teaching kids about books is the key to helping them enjoy reading. There’s no struggle if he naturally grasps a book and proceeds on reading.  Sadly, reading is not natural to all children.  Don’t give up if reading challenges you and the child.  There are tutorial programs designed to help children at different reading levels.  Joining teaching programs can create better confidence.  Most likely, they will be inclined to read more in homes and schools.

Parents now forget the essence of teaching children about reading. Today, there are many kids who become preoccupied with activities that steal their time of learning.  Parents' responsibility is to help their children develop a habit of reading.  This is one of the best gifts they can provide that lasts for a life-time.  So start now while your children are still young. It always pays to teaching children to enjoy reading!

How to Teach Children to Read: A Way of Helping them Succeed in School

Posted in Labels: , , , ,

Teach Children to Read
Who wouldn’t like to teach their children to read  and develop reading skills? All parents’ concerns involve the growth of reading at the very young age for their kids. But how should parents teach children to read and be of good help in increasing their children’s love for books?

Books are very interesting and to read can be a life-long habit. They contain all topics a young child could never miss in life. But children won’t just select a book and expect him to be excited all the time, so teach them to read now.

In order to teach children to read, they need parents’ participation to make them driven. It has been proven that a child who loves to read has the higher level of succeeding in school. He can learn better and faster than any grade-school student. Books are timeless and alive; they help young kids to travel and discover the far and unreachable worlds of interest. So teach and read to your children.

Again, the most effective way to teach your children how to read is to start early. Start to read books to them, and allow them to read to you also. Just continue showing them lots of books. Not too long, young children will be drawn naturally to read by themselves every day.

Teach to Broaden their Interests

As they continue, you can teach your children to read more by enlarging their interests. You can make reading a vital part not only for learning but also for making it a life-time habit. Teach children to read by giving them books on science, computer, language, problem solving, discoveries, etc. The list actually is endless to make your kids succeed in school.

To teach children to read is not something you push to them to do. It shouldn’t be a burden on their part but something to make them feel excited and interested. Take time, every day, to read to your child. If you see the kid playing toys, show an attractive book. He may interrupt you from time to time, but the important thing here is that he sees you holding books and reading. For best result, always make reading a source of fun for the child.

As parents, you can allow your child pick the kind of books he is most interested in. This is also one way of discovering what area of interest your child has. Picking out what books he likes helps in developing his ability to be independent. Moreover, you are trusting in your child’s decision and judgment. It’s a lot easier to teach children how to read if they like the topics.

Aside from short-story books, give him work books with lots of stimulating writing and solving activities to boost brain development and intelligence. To read stories and get something to work on can be an excellent way of boosting his learning experiences.

Reading for Studies

One of the major problems of parents nowadays is how to make their children study well in school and do homework. Admittedly, there are many students who feel lazy to read books. Their interest to study is not what they enjoy doing. Focusing on their studies has been replaced with other less important things. If they have already grown up, it would be hard already to teach your children to read.

If only parents will teach the value of reading to their kids, they would have solved half of the major problem about their children’s education—their interest to study hard. Circumstances like struggling, yelling, fighting, reprimanding would have been avoided by parents if they had taught children how to read. Wouldn’t it be a worry-free life to see your child independently reading and studying without forcing him to do it? Teach your kids to read for a stress-free life, both for children and parents.

There would never be greater things parents wish for their children than to see them read and study their lessons independently. They get what it takes to succeed in school and it all started in reading.

In conclusion, parents can always teach their children to read and help them succeed. You can inspire them in a lot of ways through reading. While they are young, surround them with a variety of useful books. Not too long they will amaze you; you will hear them speak broad knowledge on the subject matters they love most! Teach them to read; they'll benefit a lot to make it their lifetime habit.

Educating and Teaching Responsibility to Your Kids

Posted in Labels: , , , ,

Every parent wants his or her children to learn the virtue of being responsible.  We’ve always wanted our kids to be trained in making wise decisions.  Later in life, we want them to grow up responsible for their deeds and keep living as mature people.

Are parents good enough to teach children on responsibility by doing household chores?  Tasks at home are important to building up responsible children. But what about being trained and learn to be accountable for their own deeds?  How are parents at taking charge for their actions?  Do parents offer opportunities to disappoint children instead of making them driven and responsible? These things happen in every corner of a home.

Children start valuing themselves as family members the moment they are able to make simple contributions.  Although very young, they can already begin to hang their own clothes, keep their toys inside a big bin, help mop the floor, fold the laundry, or wash the dishes.  For each stage and age level, a parent can increase their children's tasks in order for the latter to become more responsible.  Added work should be appropriate to their age.

If parents practice discipline that results to logical consequences, they’re actually training the child to be in authority over their behavior.  In contrast, it seldom works when a child always receives nagging, reprimand, or punishment.  If they are exposed to these things, children won’t learn the sense of responsibility.  The conditions will only terrify the child.  The repercussion is a neglected trust and respect between parents and children.  Remember, one of our major jobs as parents is to train children and make them responsible for their  activities.

You can try giving lots of opportunities for them to understand what responsibility is.  The life core of a person is about choices.  Though toddlers may look too young too make choices, 1 or 2 entrusted responsibilities can make a big difference.  Like mature people, children must live according to the costs of their decisions.  Whether they do well or make mistakes, still the experience promotes respect and self-worth.

More often than not, parents always mingle with the activities of the children.  They take most of the troubles where in fact it’s the children who personally own the problem.  Parents are more overwhelmed about uncompleted homework.  If we gradually detach ourselves from them, we’re teaching them to be responsible for whatever they do.  We can support them by showing our faith that they can handle difficulties.

Guidance and backing up are great to offer.  We may ask: “What would happen if you can’t get the homework done?” “What would you do now since you didn’t meet the requirement?”  However, always be there to uphold them when their attempts fail to work.

How are you at measuring your children's ability to handle strong responsibilities?  How quick are you to put blame on them?  Do you take rights for your part in the problem?  Children are taught only to be victimized; they never learn that they are the ones to take charge of what’s happening.  But a real responsible person faces the challenges to change things instead of passing faults to others.
